
Yosef Lindell is a lawyer, writer, and lecturer who teaches Jewish history and thought in a lively and accessible manner through his articles and classes. He is passionate about sharing rigorous but public-facing scholarship.
He has a BA in History and an MA in Medieval Jewish History from Yeshiva University, and a JD from New York University School of Law, where he was also a Tikvah Scholar at the Center for Law & Jewish Civilization.
From 2020 until 2024, he was an editor at The Lehrhaus, an online forum for Jewish thought, and now serves on its consulting editorial board.
Yosef has published more than 40 articles in venues including The Atlantic, The Jewish Review of Books, The Forward, Tablet Magazine, The Lehrhaus, Jewish Action, 18Forty, Modern Judaism, and Hakirah.
He has also written short science-fiction, which can be found in Beneath Ceaseless Skies and Clarkesworld, among other places.
He lectures widely about Jewish history, thought, and practice in various venues, including online for Torah in Motion, and is available for speaking engagements or Scholar-in-Residence events.
Yosef lives in Silver Spring, MD (just outside of Washington, DC) with his wife and two sons.
