Thanks for this outstanding article, very enjoyable and though-provoking. I was familiar with the midrashic stories around the staff, but had not come across the notion of how these magical interpretations could be seized upon by biblical critics and found it interesting to explore that angle.

Thanks for commenting. We do not know where it is now, and there is no reason to assume it has survived. People like Graham Phillips who claim they have found the staff have provided no serious evidence. As far as I know, there are no wooden artifacts that have survived from biblical times.
